Wool Wide Web Account Manager—(aka “Rock Star”)
       
The Wool Wide Web is a marketing consulting agency quickly becoming one of the most talked-about companies in the yarn and knitting industry. We work with companies of all sizes and types, from industry leaders to new startups and fledgling designers. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager. The person reports to the Senior Rock Star and oversees and executes all the technical components of the marketing strategy plan as outlined for each client.  

Can You Join the Band?

• You have rock-solid technical skills, you can whip out an HTML landing page, you can design beautiful graphics and you know the basic functionality of blogging platforms.  You know that SEO isn’t a knitting term.
• You know Ravelry, Facebook, Twitter and possibly Constant Contact backwards and forwards.
• You’re a creative and strategic thinker who can work with our network of clients to put together really exciting collaborative projects that make them all beam with joy.
• You’re both a big-picture visionary and yet overly attentive to details.
• You have a personable, easy-going yet professional presence and appreciate the zen of listening more than speaking. Bonus points here for industry connections.
• You’re a self-starter that can manage your own schedule, meet deadlines and stay on tasks. You don’t get overwhelmed when you drop an entire row of stitches. In other words, you know how to handle stress, deal with it and move on to the next crisis.
• You have an autodidactic learning style. If you don’t know what autodidactic means, you’re the kind of person who immediately Googles it to find out.
• You can write interesting, engaging copy that people want to read.
• You know how to research information and synthesize it into a meaningful report.
• You’re a really great knitter or crocheter not embarrassed about your healthy stash.
• You’re kind, generous and play well with others.  Oh, and you’re not crazy…

This position is a 1099 independent contractor telecommuting position. You must have the necessary hardware and software to support the duties of the job. We anticipate contracting approximately 15-20 hours p/week to start with the potential for growing into a full time position within 9 months as your portfolio grows. Compensation range will be $22K-$26K when the position is full time. We’re still in startup mode so while we lament that we can’t offer you the rock star salary, but we believe in sharing the pie. Know that as our company grows and thrives, so will your position and in turn, your bank account.
